Nelson Cruz is staying with the Minnesota Twins.
MLB.com is reporting Cruz, the Twins' best hitter two years in a row, will return to the team in 2021 on a one-year, $13 million deal.
Both Cruz, who turns 41 this year, and the Twins had expressed interest in continuing their partnership. In his two years as a Twin, Cruz hit 57 homers in 173 games and batted .308.
Cruz signed a one-year deal worth $14 million in January 2019 with an option that the Twins picked of for a second year, at $12 million.
Cruz launched 41 homers in 2019.
News of Cruz's return comes as Twins pitchers and catchers prepare to report to Fort Myers on February 18 for Spring Training.
Just last week, the Twins announced the singing of shortstop Andrelton Simmons.
