The official start to the 2025 Twins season begins in a couple weeks with the 63rd annual Twins Caravan.

The two-day event consists of two legs, four states, and nine cities. There will be alumni, current players and broadcasters.

But what really makes this annual event unique?

"We try to do things in each stop that's truly unique to that community and really immerse ourselves," explains Twins Director of Business Communications Matt Hodson. "For instance, this year a group that's heading to Owatonna is going to be part of that community's 'Bold and Cold Days'. You're gonna have Brooks Lee and Louis Varland and Glen Perkins down there. And if there's snow going on for for that event, they're going to do some snow sculpting. If not, they'll find something else."

Despite the lack of any major moves this off-season, there's plenty to be excited about.

"Talent wise, we are still as good as anybody in the division and and can put together a club that can compete for postseason baseball and hopefully beyond," Hodson predicts. "That all gets started really with with Winter Caravan."

Hodson says there are several very popular players hitting the road for Caravan and they're hoping for big seasons from some of them too.

"Is this the year that we're going to get a full year of a healthy Royce Lewis and Carlos Correa and Byron Buxton, all together? Is this the year that Joe Ryan comes back and puts together some Cy Young Award votes? You know, there's a lot of things out there to get folks excited we're ready to roll," Hodson says.

Caravan is set for January 21-22. Visit the Twins website here for more information and a full schedule of stops. And of course, Twinsfest is coming up on January 24-25. WCCO will once again provide live broadcasts featuring all of the Twin broadcasters along with players and alumni on Saturday, January 25.

And it might be hard to believe, but pitchers and catchers report for Spring Training in just over a month.
