The Twins might be struggling after the All-Star Break - so Twins fans, are you ready for the 2026 baseball season?
The Twins and Major League Baseball officially rolled out the schedule for next year on Tuesday which begins Thursday, March 26 in Baltimore. The home opener at Target Field will be Thursday, April 3 when the Twins host Tampa. The Twins’ March 26 Opening Day game is the earliest in franchise history, besting 2025 by one day.
As usual for Minnesota, with our very northern climate, the season begins on the road. After a Thursday/Saturday/Sunday three-game series in Baltimore the Twins will head to Kansas City for three before opening their home schedule.
Tampa is in Minneapolis for three on Friday/Saturday/Sunday and then it's Detroit at Target Field for a four-game set. Yes, that is seven consecutive days with home games, in early April, at Target Field, so MLB is hoping Mother Nature is in a good mood.
Other schedule highlights include three games in April at Citi Field against the Mets April 21-23, the annual border-battle with the Brewers will return to Target Field May 15-17, and the LA Dodgers at Target Field June 22-24.
Just like 2024, the Twins have a late-season Yankee series at home September 14-16 (they play September 15-17 this season).
Also of note, the Twins are scheduled to host the Phillies August 14-16. There are reports that the two teams will play at the Field of Dreams stadium in Dyersville, Iowa, the third time a major league game is staged at the site of the classic 1989 movie. That is not officially included in Tuesday's schedule release but still expected to come at a later date.
The Twins will wrap up the season hosting Texas at Target Field September 25-27.
Times for all of the games will be announced at a later date.
It's been a tough stretch for the home nine as the Twins lost for the sixth time in seven games in Toronto Monday night. Twins All-Star pitcher Joe Ryan had his second straight bad outing, giving up four runs in the 1st inning in a 10-4 loss to the Blue Jays.
Bailey Ober (4-7, 5.05 ERA) is on the hill for the Twins Tuesday night as they try to end the skid. They're currently 59-72, fourth in the AL Central, and have struggled mightily since a very busy trading deadline gutted the bullpen and moved several of the team's veteran players for prospects. The Twins are 2-8 in their last 10 games, batting only .212 at a team, with pitchers posting a hefty 6.03 ERA. They've been outscored by 29 runs over that stretch.
