Twins Home Opener Preview: Five new Target Field foods we loved

Twins open the 2025 home season Thursday at Target Field and previewed some new food for media this week

It's part of what makes Target Field one of baseball's best ballparks. Yes, it sure helps to win, but a day at the park also comes with a side of food and beverage.

Each year, the Twins and their partners at Delaware North come up with a few new partnerships and fresh food and beverages, upping that fan experience in Target Field. 2025 is no exception and the media got a little preview this week.

Here are five of our favorites and where you can find them!

Chopped Southwest Burger (Truly On Deck):

Chopped beef patty, chorizo, jalapeño aioli, lettuce, tomato, onion, pepperjack cheese and queso fresco on a hoagie roll. I started skeptical. I ended finishing the entire thing. Very tender, just a touch of spice, it's different - and delicious.

Sweet and Sour Fried Pork from Vinai (Truly On Deck):

Vinai is one of the best restaurants in the Twin Cities, and chef Yia Vang is bringing a taste of it from his newest Northeast Minneapolis Hmong restaurant to Target Field. It's a crispy fried pork, tossed in sweet and sour sauce, served on a fresh cabbage slaw with fresh cucumbers and pickled carrots. The pork is definitely crispy, with a salty-sweet-sour combo. The kicker is the slaw though. Super fresh, crisp veggies which is very hard to find in ballpark food.

Grand Slam Shawarma (Section 110):

Shawarma is the new fast-casual star with places like Roti and Naf Naf Grill popping up across the metro. It's done even better here. You get marinated chicken in garlic sauce rolled up in flatbread, chopped pickles and roasted garlic mayo. It's incredibly tender, super juicy chicken with a ton of flavor. It also comes wrapped up neatly making it a perfect snack to bring back to your seat.

Kramarczuk's Brat Sampler (Section 101 and 112)

Kramarczuk's has been a mainstay at Target Field since the beginning. The Northeast Minneapolis deli (and more) nailed it again. They're showing off a Brat Sampler featuring locally-made Polish sausage, bratwurst and - new this year - cherry bomb sausages. The cherry bombs have the sweet from cherries inside, and another ballpark rarity, real "heat". They have a definite kick. Don't miss the grilled onions and sauerkraut on the side.

The Machete at Taco Libre (Section 103):

Target Field brings you a little bit of authentic Mexican cuisine, debuts at Target Field with two offerings: Machete – an 18” corn masa quesadilla with your choice of steak or chicken, lettuce, sour cream and shredded cheese which is huge, of course. But it's also crispy and really tasty. There's also a Rice Bowl with your choice of steak or chicken and served with rice, pinto beans, pico de gallo, sour cream and queso fresco. Legitimately good Mexican at the ballpark this year!

Bonus:

There are always new beverage options, most of them aimed at adults and that's true again in 2025. But the boba tea trend has come to the ballpark this year too.

Niko Niko Boba (Section 107) has three options available - Hawaiian Fruit Tea with black tea, ice, Hawaiian fruit tea syrup, peach syrup and water, and choice of boba. Signature Milk Tea with creamy black tea, bubble tea powder and fructose, and choice of boba, And finally a Strawberry Lemon Spritz which is a caffeine-free, no-tea option with strawberry jam, lemon syrup, water and sparkling water, and choice of boba. We tried botht he Hawaiian and Milk Teas and both were refeshing, fun and delicious. The kids will flock to them.
