Don't look now, but the Minnesota Twins are winning some games, and look for their third straight win Wednesday night as they host the Detroit Tigers in game three of a four game series at Target Field.

Taj Bradley outdueled Tarik Skubal and Ryan Jeffers drove in two runs as the Minnesota Twins beat the Detroit Tigers 4-2 on Tuesday night.

Bradley (2-0) gave up one run on six hits with no walks and 10 strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings as the Twins won their second straight. Four relievers combined to finish the game, with Justin Topa getting the last two outs for his first save.

Twins manager Derek Shelton joined Tom Hauser Wednesday on the WCCO Radio Morning News. Pitching, like the start they got from Bradley, has been driving the Twins winning streak.

"I think we're seeing a kid really kind of mature in front of our eyes, and last night he had to go toe-to-toe with one of the best pitchers in baseball, if not the best pitcher in baseball, and really had an impressive performance," Shelton said.

In three starts this year — all Twins victories — Bradley has allowed two runs while waking four and striking out 22 over 16 2/3 innings.

Hitting has been a little slower to come around, yet sill, Shelton says they're finding ways to get it done.

"It's been fun to watch, some of the starts we've had out of our guys," Shelton notes about the starting pitching. "And on the offensive side of the ball, yes, I mean, some of it has to do with the pitching you face. We faced Skubal last night and we faced some good pitching here in the early going. And then some of it is, you know, it's challenging when it's as cold as it is."

And cold it has certainly been. Starting with last week's home opener, games at Target Field have been chilly to say the least. It has shown in some light attendance as well.

But Shelton says April can be a tough month for fans, and the team is loaded with home games in what is the coldest month of the baseball season in Minnesota.

"I think it's a little unfortunate for us that we have 17 early in the season just because of the fact when the weather warms up here," says the manager. "I know fans are so excited to get out to games and being at Target Field, it's one of the best atmospheres and one of the most beautiful ballparks in the game. In the early going, I would just say stay with us a little bit."
