
Adam Zimmer, the son of former Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer, has died.
The 38-year-old died yesterday according to Adam's sister, Corri Zimmer, who posted the news this morning on Instagram. No cause of death was given. In her post, Zimmer said that she and her brother became close when their mother passed away in 2009.
"My brother was one of my best friends, especially after my mom died, we became so close."
Adam Zimmer joined the Vikings' coaching staff as linebackers coach in 2014 when his father was hired to be the head coach. Adam eventually became co-defensive coordinator in 2020 but was fired along with his father following the 2021 season.
Adam had been working as the Cincinnati Bengals Offensive Analyst.
Zimmer was 38 years old.
