When you turn on your Playstation 5, which you paid too much for, this fall you should expect to play the run game if you use the Vikings as Dalvin Cook is the team's top-rated player with an overall score of 95.
EA Sports' newest release of the Madden series has the Minnesota Vikings sitting at 24th in the league with an overall rating of 78. Additionally, its defense is rated an 81, while the offense is a 77.
When it comes to tight spaces, Cook was ranked the number one running back, and he was also given a 92 or higher in acceleration, agility, awareness, and speed. Only Christian McCaffery had similar ratings.
Other notable Vikings to hit the 90 mark in Madden 22 include defensive stars Erik Kendricks and Harrison Smith, both sitting at an even 90.
Kendricks is one of five other middle linebackers rated 90 and up, and Smith is tied for third among strong safeties.
On the offensive side of the ball, cornerstone wide receiver Adam Thielen received an 88 overall rating tying him for the 14th highest rating with two other wideouts.
One point short of Thielen, and sure to be a discussion in the locker room, 2020 Offensive Rookie of the Year finalist Justin Jefferson was rated an 87.
Behind center, the Vikings have the 15th highest-rated quarterback in Kirk Cousins, who was rated 79 overall. The only other QB to be rated higher than Cousins in the division is Aaron Rodgers.
Fan-favorite Danielle Hunter was given an 89 overall rating, the third-highest for left defensive ends. Offseason addition Patrick Peterson was given an 81 overall rating but a 91 in acceleration, agility, and speed.
As always, the folks at EA adjust Madden ratings throughout the season, and as players perform or underperform, their ratings will often go up or down by a point or two.
