A 23-month-old girl is dead after the pickup she was in collided with a school bus Monday morning in Arden Hills.
The crash happened around 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of highways 10 and 96 when the pickup drove in front of the bus.
"There were no kids in the school bus at the time of the crash," said Ramsey County sheriff's spokesman Steve Linders. "Just a tragic, tragic incident that could have been much worse."
The girl was in a child car seat behind her 31-year-old father, who was driving the pickup.
Her 29-year-old mother was in the front passenger seat, and her 15-year-old brother was next to the girl.
Linders said the girl was not breathing when sheriff's deputies arrived at the scene.
They tried to revive the girl, who was then taken by paramedics to the hospital, where she died.
The teenager is hospitalized with leg injuries.
The woman driving the bus was not hurt.
Names are not released and it's not known what led to the crash.
