Dr. Brenda Cassellius is currently the CEO of Fresh Energy, Dr. Rhoda Mhiripiri-Reed is the superintendent of Hopkins Public Schools and Dr. Stacie Stanley is superintendent of Edina Public Schools.
School Board Chair Halla Henderson says the position is expected to be filled swiftly.
"Starting the 16th of December we will have our first interview and then we will have an interview with one candidate per day over the following two days," says Henderson, " before the board ultimately hopes to be able to come to a decision by the 19th at the latest."
Henderson says community input played a big role in choosing the finalists.
The change in leadership comes amid a new lawsuit filed last month, alleging that the district misused federal COVID-19 money in violation of both state and federal laws.
