A shooting in north Minneapolis and crash on I-94 are connected to what is now the city's 67th reported homicide of the year.
Minneapolis police said Tuesday night that ShotSpotter alerted them to shots fired at 7:59 p.m. on the 500 block of 49th avenue N. At the same time, deputies with the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office located a single-vehicle car crash on the on-ramp from Lyndale Ave N to I-94 east.
Deputies found one person inside the vehicle suffering from multiple injuries including gunshot wounds.
Investigators found evidence at the shooting scene that linked the shooting and crash together.
The victim's identity hasn't been released as of Wednesday morning and no arrests had been made.
