1:00 p.m. Update:
MnDot says Interstate 694 in the Little Canada area is back open after a semi rollover earlier this morning sent hogs running amok on the freeway. The driver was not hurt and the pigs were rounded up. Unfortunately ome of the animals were injured according to MnDOT and the State Patrol.

The State Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle rollover crash involving a semi and trailer which was carrying livestock.

Eastbound 694 to northbound 35E in Little Canada is closed for an investigation. There are no injuries reported according to the State Patrol who is asking drivers to find an alternative route.

WCCO’s traffic reporter, Jerry Peterson, says there were pigs on the road which they were trying to round up.

“A semi hauling hogs rolled over about 7:30 this morning,” said Peterson. “The semi is on its side at 694 at 35E. A number of hogs got loose. They’ve got all those corralled now and are working on getting the semi cleared.”

Peterson adds it could be some time before the highway is reopened.
