Alleged Allina Health Clinic shooter Gregory Paul Ulrich, 67, has been charged with second-degree murder, four counts of premeditated first-degree attempted murder, creating an incendiary device, and carrying a pistol without a permit after police say he opened fire in a clinic he was angry with.

Employee Lindsay Overbay, 37, the mother of a 5 and 8 year-old, was killed Tuesday in the Buffalo clinic shooting, while four others were reportedly critically injured. More than $190,000 has been raised for Overbay's family by a Go Fund Me.

She's described as a beautiful mother, daughter and friend.

"She was the bright light in so many peoples lives, she could light up a room with her contagious laugh," according to the Go Fund Me. "Lindsay was attending college classes to further her career to make sure she could provide a better life for her two beautiful children."

As for Ulrich, Wright County Attorney Brian Lutes had vowed to "aggressively prosecute Ulrich for this horrible crime and the pain he caused to the victims, their families and the entire community."

It's yet unknown if anyone specifically was targeted in the shooting or what exactly the motive was, however court documents show that in 2018 Ulrich was ordered to stay away from the clinic and one of its physicians.

According to records on the restraining order, Ulrich allegedly stated that it wouldn't be enough to only kill one and he wanted to create the kind of "sensation" that would "warrant at least 30 years in jail and possibly a straight jacket."

Prosecutors later charged Ulrich with violating the restraining order, but dropped the case eventually. A judge found him mentally incompetent.

Police said in the aftermath of the deadly incident that Ulrich was well-known to local law enforcement and they had had contact with him since 2003.
