The state's largest school district has found its new superintendent.

By a vote of 5 to 1, the Anoka-Hennepin School board voted for current Osseo Superintendent Cory McIntyre to take over for Dr. David Law, who left to lead the Minnetonka school system earlier this year.

McIntyre is no stranger to Anoka Hennepin, having served as an assistant superintendent before taking the Osseo job in 2019. According to McIntyre, Anoka-Hennepin is a good match for him.

“Anoka-Hennepin Schools has demonstrated a commitment to excellence and a belief that all students can learn at high levels. I believe the mission and vision of the District is a match with my philosophy of education, and my skills and abilities as a leader.”

If a contract is worked out, he's slated to begin his new role in July.
