Investigators with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension have released the name of the man killed by an Olivia police officer early Sunday morning.
The BCA says Ricardo Torres, Jr. 32, of Olivia was shot and killed by officer Aaron Clouse, who has been in law enforcement for 11 years. Officer Clouse is on standard administrative leave.
According to investigators, the shooting happened on July 4 at 2:20 a.m. in the alley behind 821 East Lincoln Avenue in Olivia.
Investigators said they found a shotgun near the scene where Torres was shot.
No body camera or dash cameras captured the deadly encounter. Olivia police do not use body cameras.
