The Big Honking Truck Parade set to take place Thursdayevening downtown Minneapolis.

Fire trucks, dump trucks, concrete mixers, even garbage trucks all making their way downtown from Grant Street along Nicollet Mall.

Among those planning to watch along with his two kids, is Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.

"Kids can check them out directly," Frey says. "Like, hop on a fire truck, go see if you can operate a garbage truck yourself. I mean this is the kind of thing that dreams are made of, and yeah, these dreams start with trucks."

Festivities start at 5:00 p.m. After the parade, kids can actually get up close and climb on the trucks.

"It's going to give a whole bunch of really excited kids the opportunity to check out everything from police and fire trucks to concrete mixers, even garbage trucks," adds Frey.
