Minnesota will get a White Christmas.
"8 to 12 inches of snow is likely, with some spots seeing up to 15 inches," said WCCO Radio meteorologist Paul Douglas on Wednesday. "I'm even thinking parts of the metro will see blizzard conditions with sustained winds over 35 MPH and visibility under a quarter mile for at least three hours Wednesday afternoon and evening."
The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities has issued Blizzard and Winter Storm Warnings for much of the state on Wednesday.
According the the NWS the snow should arrive in western Minnesota by mid-morning before making its way across the state into the afternoon and evening.
"We could see some 2 to 4 foot drifts by late Wednesday night," Douglas said. "I think by Thursday afternoon the freeways and Interstates should be in good shape, but if you can hold off from driving between noon Wednesday and noon Thursday, I think you will thank yourself."
