The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a body in a "severe state of decomposition" was found on the shoreline of Bde Maka Ska in Minneapolis on Sunday morning.
Minneapolis Park Police and the Minneapolis Police Department responded at 11:30 a.m. to a report of a of a body in the water at Bde Maka Ska near West 36th Street and East Bde Maka Ska Parkway.
Several first responders were on the scene when police arrived and the individual was pronounced dead. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner is investigating the decedent's cause of death and identity.
Body found Saturday in Minneapolis
Minneapolis Park Police also said a body was found Saturday evening in a wooded area near East River Parkway and Oak Street.
The body was found around 6 p.m. and police did not say how the individual died. Minneapolis Park Police are investigating.
