A body discovered Tuesday evening in rural Isanti County is believed to be that of a missing Isanti woman, according to investigators.
The discovery happened as investigators with the Isanti County Sheriff's Office and Isanti Police Department executed a search warrant at property in the 300 block of 261st Avenue NW in Athens Township.
While the medical examiner will determine the identity and cause of death, police believe the body is that of Amanda Jo VanGrinsven.
VanGrinsven, 32, was last seen Thursday, August 5.
According to the Minnesota BCA, VanGrinsven was last seen leaving the Isanti VFW to go to the Dugout Bar in Bethel. VanGrinsven was reportedly driven back to the area, but failed to show up for work the next day and her car was still parked at the VFW.
No one is in custody at this time. Police add that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
