Charges have been filed against a woman in connection with a fire that killed two people in August.
35-year old Deonna Presbury is charged with two counts of second-degree murder and three counts of first-degree arson after a fire last summer killed two people. Four other people, including a teenager, were injured. About 30 people were displaced.
59-year-old Debbie Allen and 66-year-old Kerry Sims died in the blaze. According to the criminal complaint, Presbury was arguing with them and demanding that her belongings be returned. They say a witness reported seeing the man give her the items.
Other witnesses told police that they too heard the argument, and Presbury allegedly said she would burn the apartment down if she didn't get her stuff back.
The fire happened at an apartment complex on the 1500 block of 11th Avenue South in Minneapolis.
After investigations, it was determined in December the fire was set intentionally. Presbury's first court hearing is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
