Reports of possible civil unrest prompted a lockdown at all 19 Minneapolis fire stations Monday night.
Chief Bryan Tyner wouldn't get into specifics, but said the lockdown was called so that all fire crews were ready to respond if needed.
"The department had received some intelligence that there was a possibility of some civil unrest last night, and so the decision was made to keep the rigs at the stations so that they would be in place and ready to go should anything occur."
There were no incidents of civil unrest Monday night in Minneapolis.
The lockdown, which was called at 6:40 PM and lasted until 10:00 PM, meant that all firefighters and rigs were to stay at their respective fire houses unless responding to an emergency.
Tyner says similar lockdown were called during nights of unrest earlier this summer.
