The city of Minneapolis on Monday opens a neighborhood community support and resource center to help those dealing with last week's Annunciation Church shooting.

The center is located at Lynnhurt Park, a few blocks south of Lake Harriet and will be staffed by volunteers from the Minneapolis Park Board.

"Maybe you're a neighbor, and you want to talk things through," said Minneapolis neighborhoods program manager Steven Gallagher. "You have folks here that can help you talk through how you're feeling and how we can cope as a community"

The center will provide mental health and victim services, spiritual care, along with activities for children.

For now, the center will be open Monday and Tuesday, and the goal is to remain open through the end of the week.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey says no one should be alone when dealing with this tragedy.
