Edina police say a 10 and 11-year old girl are responsible for two voicemail threats that forced the closure of three schools and a community center today...

Edina and Bloomington police investigated and released the girls to their parents. The case is being forwarded  to the Hennepin County Attorney's Office for possible charges. Police say the girls are not current or former students in Edina.

Wednesday closures come after Edina High School and Valley View High School shifted to online-only classes last Friday after a 17-year-old from Minneapolis reportedly posted a Snapchat of himself with a seim-automatic handgun, extended magazine, and threatening caption just feet from the high school doors.

Edina police had extra patrols as students and staff returned to class on Monday.

This is a developing story. Check back for more information.
