A day after there was a concert announcement – followed quickly by a change – from the Foo Fighters at Huntington Bank Stadium, we have another concert announcement this time from a country music superstar.

Keith Urban is bringing his world tour to St. Paul in 2022 year with a date at Xcel Energy Center.

“After two years we’re finally gonna get the chance to play some of the new songs we haven’t done live before,” Urban said in announcing the tour. “We’ll throw in a bunch of the songs that everyone comes to hear, a couple of which we’ll rework a bit, and it’s really gonna be tough to get us off the stage.”

Urban will be in the Twin Cities for his Speed of Now tour November 5th, 2022. Tickets go on sale next Friday, Dec. 10th through Ticketmaster.

Joining Urban on tour is Ingrid Andress.

The Urban announcement did not address COVID protocols which was the issue Tuesday with the Foo Fighters announcement. Xcel Energy Center's website only says COVID protocols "vary based on event."

The Foo Fighters could not come to an agreement with Huntington Bank Stadium, the Gopher football facility on the University of Minnesota campus. It appears the band wanted to require proof of vaccination while the University did not.
