Owners of a of suddenly closed wedding venue in Isanti, Minnesota are now being asked to pay back thousands of dollars to people surprised by the closure.
Wayne and Angi Butt own two wedding venues in Minnesota but it's the Circle B in Isanti that is causing the issues. They also own the Historic John Furber Farm in Cottage Grove.
At least four civil lawsuits have been filed against the owners.
The complaints are asking the owners to payback the money used to reserve the venue, with claims ranging from $5,300 up to $9,000.
WCCO-TV reports that in late April, couples planning to tie the knot at Circle B received an email telling them the venue was closing immediately.
"It is no longer possible to maintain the business in the current economic environment... For many of you, this will been [sic] devastating for your plans, for that we are truly sorry. Nobody is available to take calls or emails," the email read.
The emails did not mention a refund.
