The COVID-19 restrictions that were put into effect by Gov.
Walz in mid-November and extended into the holiday season are now lifted.
Indoor dining at 50 percent capacity is now allowed again in restaurants and bars in most of Minnesota.
Tables inside those places serving food must be six feet apart and are limited to six people, while all establishments are under a 10:00 p.m. curfew.
In addition, everyone entering a bar or restaurant in Minnesota for in-person dining must wear a mask when not eating or drinking.
Patrons can now belly up to the bar to enjoy a beverage at Minnesota taverns, but groups are limited to two people that must be at least six feet apart.
The only place where the rules aren’t relaxed is Minneapolis, where Mayor Jacob Frey announced last Friday that the city’s bar ban will continue.
This comes a week after high school winter sports teams were allowed to begin practice, with games against other schools beginning on Thursday.
Student-athletes must wear masks during practices and games, and attendance at competitions is limited.
