The state Democratic party is calling on Congress to throw out two Republican members of the state's delegation---newly-elected Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach and Congressman Jim Hagedorn.
DFL Party Chair Ken Martin says the two have violated their oaths to support and defend the United States Constitution by, quote, "lending aid and comfort to an insurrectionist mob through their votes to overturn the results of a free and fair American election."
Hagedorn and Fischbach were the only two members of Minnesota's Congressional delegation to vote against the certification of the election of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
WCCO Radio has reached out to both members of Congress to explain their votes, especially in light of the violence at the US Capitol Wednesday. While press releases were issued by both Hagedorn and Fischbach, neither has agreed to an interview.
Martin is calling on Congressional leaders to begin the formal process of expelling Fischbach and Hagedorn from the U-S House.
