More trouble for a Minnesota DFL State Senator.

State Senator Tou Xiong (Maplewood) was arrested early Thursday morning on suspicion of driving while impaired and booked into the Ramsey County Jail.

This arrest follows a 2022 arrest in Blaine, and a subsequent guilty plea to a misdemeanor charge of driving while impaired.

Xiong was give one year of probation for that incident.

In a statement Thursday, Xiong acknowledged the arrest and apologized, adding that he's started the work of talking to his family and Senate colleagues about the situation.
