Edina police and firefighters are searching for a toddler who was last seen Monday evening.
The 2-and-a-half year old girl, Iklas Abdullahi Ahmed, was last seen around 5 p.m. Monday near Rosland Park located near Lake Cornelia. She was wearing white close and an organ hijab. It's believed the Ahmed wandered off on her own according to police.
"We're aware that there were a number of people in the park area or the parking lot area and likely left at about the time all of our officers were arriving on scene," said Edina Police Chief Todd Millburn. "We're asking the public or those who were in the parking lot throughout the day who may have seen anything to call 911."
Neighbors are asked to check their property for places that could serve as a hiding place.
Authorities are asking people to stay away from the park as the search effort continues.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call police at 952-826-1600.
