A Federal civil lawsuit has been filed in connection with the case of Anton Lazarro, the state Republican fundraiser and strategist charged with sex trafficking of minors.
The parents of one of his alleged victims filed a claim that Lazarro spent two years grooming their daughter to eventually engage in commercial sex acts. She was 14 at the time. They also say Lazarro’s attorneys then tried to pay the family hush money to keep the events quiet.
Lazarro is facing ten charges for allegedly recruiting six minors. The 30-year old lived a high roller lifestyle, running the enterprise from a posh downtown Minneapolis condo.
A 19-year old St. Thomas University student, who was president of the college Republicans on campus was also charged in connection with the case.
Lazzaro’s close ties with Jennifer Carnahan was also responsible for her removal as Minnesota Republican Chairwoman last month.
