Was it a dream? A television show? A supernatural experience?
The only thing folks in Bemidji and southern Beltrami County know right now... what they heard and saw was real.
That's from a resident security camera in Bemidji's Nymore neighborhood... the video showing a bright flash before the blast.
Authorities say calls about the bone-jarring noise started coming in around 6:40 p.m.
People in some parts of counties south of Beltrami are reporting the same thing.
It was loud enough to shake windows and walls, and rattle dishes in kitchen cupboards.
Law enforcement went out to check area power substations and power pole transformers, and they found nothing unusual.
Authorities gather Tuesday for a follow-up.
They believe something passed overhead, creating the flash and bang, perhaps a meteor.
That's only speculation, but right now, it's all they've got.
