A former Edina High School and Wisconsin basketball standout lost his battle to cancer late last week.
It was announced Monday that Walt McGrory died of bone cancer about two years after he was first diagnosed with the disease.
McGrory is the all-time leading scorer for Edina and walked on at Wisconsin, playing 36 games for the Badgers and helping them to the Big Ten championship in 2020.
In a statement, Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard called McGrory a beloved member of the Badger family.
Walt McGrory was 24 years old.
