The Gopher basketball team is dealing with another postponement thanks to COVID.

Their Jan. 19th game at Penn State will not happen due to internal COVID-19 protocols within the Gopher program.

Minnesota played without four players in Sunday's game against Iowa. Some were out due to injury while others missed with illness and COVID protocols. The Gophers hung in the game against the much deeper Hawkeyes but lost 81-71 dropping their Big Ten record to 1-5. They've lost four in a row after an exciting win in Michigan.

According to the University, following additional testing Monday, Minnesota fell below the Big Ten Conference roster minimum, with fewer than seven scholarship players available.

The programs will coordinate with the Big Ten Conference office to reschedule the game.

Minnesota's next game is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 22 against Rutgers.
