The month-long search for a man who failed to return to jail after being granted a furlough ended Tuesday in Brooklyn Center.
Shevirio Kavirion Childs-Young was arrested outside of a Brooklyn Center strip mall in the 1000 block of Shingle Creek Crossing by the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Violent Offender Task Force.
According to a press release, Childs-Young was released from custody earlier in the month on a furlough and never returned as part of his conditions.

Childs-Young was located Tuesday inside a vehicle in north Minneapolis and the Minnesota State Patrol followed him via air patrol to the strip mall.
Prior to the arrest, Childs-Young attempted to flee in a vehicle, but a VOTF vehicle was used to box him and prevent the escape.
Investigators found handgun ammunition inside the vehicle, along with an infant, who was unharmed.
