The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is looking for people to fill their current open positions who are ready for anything...
Even a Zombie Apocalypse!
A new recruitment video released last week features 911 dispatchers, crime scene investigators, booking officers and even a zombie. Major Kristen Tomlinson says that she hopes the video catches the eye of some prospective candidates.
"Candidates, to have a little bit of fun, to do some recruiting," she says. "Our numbers in terms of hiring right now, we are down staff in some critical spots. And one of them being our detention deputies that work in the jail. We could probably stand to hire dozens."
Tomlinson says not all jobs require experience and that training programs are available for many of the open positions.
The recruiting video stars a zombie being booked through the County Jail. Tomlinson says it also showcases some of the open positions the office hopes to fill in the coming months.
"We have positions throughout the agency that we're always hiring for," she said. "We kind of tried to highlight that in the video by showing, you know, kind of the interaction with a crime scene investigator and the patrol deputy and then in the jail out of dispatch."
Tomlinson says the Sheriff's office is scheduled to hold an in-person recruiting event this Saturday at the Mall of America.
