A fair favorite is going rock-and-roll.

Sweet Martha’s Cookie Jar has partnered with The Black Keys to produce a T-shirt that will be sold during the group’s Minnesota State Fair opening-night concert at the Grandstand.

For the second time, Sweet Martha’s cookie jar is partnering with a Minnesota State Fair grandstand act to produce a limited edition T-shirt. In 2019 it was Vampire Weekend.

This year it’s blues rock duo The Black Keys who are performing on opening night.

The t-shirts will be limited to just 250 and are available at the Black Keys’ merchandise booth for $40. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Friends of the St. Paul Public Library.

Sweet Martha, who has run the cookie stand for over 40 years, shared with Vineeta Sawkar on the WCCO Morning News that the shirts are for a good cause.

Martha shared that her daughter, who lives part-time in Los Angeles, helped with the first collaboration they did with the band Vampire Weekend.

Through that connection, they have now collaborated with this year’s opening performers at the Grandstand, The Black Keys.

“We’re really excited for this, and it’s just going to be fun to do,” Martha shared.
