Ice Castles are back in Minnesota.

The annual winter attraction opens Friday night at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, and tickets are available.

Crews have been working around the clock and have gotten a boost with temperatures getting colder the past few days.

Last year's event was in Maple Grove, but ended early because of the warmer-than-usual temperatures.

The display features large ice formations with LED lights embedded into the frozen water.

This year's formation not far from the State Fair Grandstand include slides, caverns, archways, crawl tunnels, ice sculptures, a fire show, and an ice bar.

Ice Castles first came to Minnesota in 2011, and in the past were held in New Brighton, Eden Prairie, Stillwater and Excelsior.
