St. Paul police say a woman was arrested for disrupting Easter Sunday services at Cities Church on Summit Avenue. But, after a court appearance Monday morning, a Ramsey County judge dismissed the charges citing "no probable cause"
This is the same church where protesters swarmed into the sanctuary to protest one of the pastors in January. The pastor was acting field director of an ICE office during Operation Metro Surge.
This time, no one went inside the building.
Officers say a group of protesters were using a bullhorn and yelling loudly, and all but one complied with orders to stop.
The Star Tribune identified the woman as Emily Heather Phillips of Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
There were a number of arrests by the Department of Justice during the January protest at the church, including former CNN, now independent journalist Don Lemon, local journalist Georgie Fort, and prominent local activist Nekima Levy Armstrong.
A grand jury in Minnesota indicted nine people on federal civil rights charges of conspiracy and interfering with the First Amendment rights of worshippers during the Jan. 18 protest. Over 30 have been charged. The protest generated strong objections from the Trump administration.
