Can you believe it? In some places the election is still not over

A recount is expected to get underway Monday for St. Cloud’s Minnesota House of Representatives 14B race.

Sherburne County is set to recount ballots in three voting precincts in the race between DFL representative Dan Wolgamott, and Republican challenger Sue Ek.

Earlier this month the county announced that some absentee ballots were not included in the unofficial totals posted to the state election results website.

That data showed Wolgamott won the race by 191 votes, triggering the recount.

In Scott County, the canvassing board meets Monday to certify the results of the Minnesota House 54A election between incumbent Brad Tabke and Republican challenger Aaron Paul.

A recount showed Tabke with a 15-vote margin but there are still concerns about a discrepancy over absentee ballots.

Republicans say that could lead to legal action.

The outcomes in Districts 14B and 54A will determine which party has control of the House.

Right now, Republicans and Democrats are evenly split in the Minnesota House.
