Sunday's heat and humidity are still with us.
A patch of hot air temperatures combining with moisture up from the Gulf of Mexico is making it extremely uncomfortable just to go outside.
Temperatures are again headed to the upper 90's in the Twin Cities, with the heat index reaching triple digits.
"All this mugginess, means that it's much harder for your body to cool down naturally," WCCO radio chief meteorologist Paul Douglas.
"It's pretty easy to overheat," he said, pointing out precautious should be taken before going outside.
That includes staying hydrated, or planning to head to air conditioning if the heat becomes too intense.
"I do worry about people who work outside in this heat," Paul said.
He adds that it's also a good idea to check on the elderly during this hot spell, pointing out that older people tend to be more susceptible to heat-related illness.
Some parts of Minnesota may get relief from thunderstorms on Monday, not in the Twin Cities, though.
"The atmosphere may be capped for convection," Paul said. "Meaning it'sjust too hot for thunderstorms to get going here in the metro.
