The world famous Labubu doll will soon be taking over the Mall of America with the grand opening of Minnesota's first POP MART store.
What is that, you might be saying? Known for its artistic, character-driven collectibles and passionate fan base, the Chinese retailer’s debut will be a first in Minnesota.
The store is set to open this fall offering up an array of collectible toys, including the Labubu dolls and their popular blind boxes.
Mall spokesperson Dan Jasper says the demand for the store has been months in the making and goes beyond just a passing trend.
"Pop Mart is not a fad," Jasper says. "It is a long term trend, and it's going to be a stable, stable tenant for us. So we look at brands like that and go, how do we embrace this and get them here for many years?"
The store will be located on Level 1 North. They're known for their collectible "art toys" along with the globally popular Labubu dolls.
"It is the craze right now. We've actually embraced this for a number of years. We have other stores that sell similar to this, but to have a POP MART store coming to Mall of America. Expect long lines and a lot of happy people," says Jasper.
