A man is in custody, and a 1-year old child taken into protective custody after a police chase today that began when the man was seen putting a body in a dumpster.
Witnesses at an apartment complex on the 8900 block of Wentworth Avenue in Bloomington called police after seeing a man putting the body of a woman into a dumpster at around 9:50 a.m.
The victim was a 23-year-old woman who has not been identified. Police have not revealed how she was killed but said this afternoon that the woman and the suspect were in a relationship. Bloomington Police Chief Mike Hartley said, “obviously there was a crime scene in that apartment.” No motive is known.
Bloomington Police say when officers showed up on scene, they saw the suspect leaving in a car. They chased the 24-year-old man into Minneapolis, where he was eventually stopped and arrested. The 1-year old child was in the car with him, and placed in protective custody. The child was not physically hurt.
The man was taken to the hospital and has since been arrested on pending charges.
