We now know the name of the driver of a vehicle that slammed head-on into a school bus Saturday night on Interstate 90 in southern Minnesota.

Investigators say 55-year-old Mark Alan Tigner of Brandon, South Dakota died, while those on the bus escaped injury.

Seven of the teenaged girls on the school bus received treatment for non-serious injuries at a hospital in Albert Lea. They are all between the ages of 14 and 16.

Also on the bus and escaping injury were a 24-year-old female passenger, and a 79-year-old man who was driving the bus.

The girls were members of the Waseca High School volleyball team, and they were on their way home from a multiteam event in Rochester. The state patrol says the bus was heading east on Interstate 90 in Faribault County in a construction zone when it was struck by the on-coming car.
