St. Paul police shot and killed a man Monday night in the city's Dayton's Bluff neighborhood after he reportedly raised a gun at officers.
The shooting happened after officers were called around 6:10 p.m. to the intersection of Earl Street and Hudson Road on a report of a domestic incident.
The man was spotted by officers, who say he was seen trying to carjack a vehicle.
According to a statement from St. Paul police, the armed man may have been struck by a squad car.
After officers got out of the vehicle, the man was standing with the gun in his hand and an officer fired multiple rounds.
The man was hit in the torso and leg, and died after he was taken to Regions Hospital.
The BCA is in charge of the investigation and will review video from body cameras worn by officers involved in the incident.
Those officers are on administrative leave.
The man who died is not named, and no officers were hurt.
