
A man is in custody after allegedly firing shots at another person near Metro State University in St. Paul Thursday afternoon.
It happened just before 12:30 pm near the intersection of 6th Street East and Maria Avenue in St. Paul.
Police responded to reports of multiple gun shots in the area and officers reportedly found spent shell casings in a nearby parking lot.
The suspect was located just before 1:00 p.m. There was a brief lockdown at the school for an "active violence" alert.
A K-9 team was called in to search in the area and so far no injuries have been reported.
