An adult male is in stable condition after he was shot by police in Monticello Tuesday night.
The shooting happened after the Wright County Sheriff's Office was called just before 9:00 p.m. about a man who was carrying a large knife and yelling in the street.
Deputies used a taser to subdue the suspect who ignored commands to drop the knife.
A deputy then opened fire and struck the man. That deputy is on critical incident leave which is standard procedure.
No deputies were injured. The Minnesota BCA is investigating.
