The Maple Grove Police Department is currently investigating a bomb threat at Maple Grove Middle School.
Police have confirmed to WCCO Radio that all students are safe and there are no known risks at this time as they assess the threat.
Further info will be sent when available according to a police spokesperson. The school posted the following to their website Thursday afternoon.
This afternoon, first responders were alerted to a concerning phone call - a bomb threat - and asked our school to evacuate to further investigate the situation. All students and staff are safe.
The investigation is going to take a few hours so school and after school activities are canceled for the rest of the day. Students are being moved to St. Joseph’s Church, our reunification site. Buses will take students home from the church at normal dismissal time. Parents/caregivers that normally pick up or wish to pick can get their student(s) at the church site at anytime:
St. Joseph, 7180 Hemlock Lane N., Maple Grove, MN 55369
We have been very pleased with the cooperation of our students and staff. Updates will continue to be shared as needed.
The safety and well-being of our students and staff is our highest priority. It takes all of us working together to do this.
