Picket lines are up at three locations as mental health workers at M Health Fairview and Allina Health are staging a one-day strike over a lack of a contract with those health care providers.
There are more than 400 mental heath care workers taking part in the walkout.
They unionized late last year with SEIU and are still trying to work out their first-ever contract.
Union members say M Health and Allina are not respecting or protecting these workers or their patients in what they say are increasingly difficult circumstances.
The demonstrations are at M Health Fairview (24th Ave S and Riverside, Minneapolis)Allina Abbott Northwestern (27th & Chicago, Minneapolis) and Allina Unity (550 Osborne Rd, Fridley).
