Ernest Morales is out at Metro Transit police chief, about a month after an internal investigation was launched over complaints from workers in the agency.
Morales had been on paid administrative leave since the probe began.
His replacement on an interim basis is Captain Joseph Doseth.
The announcement about Morales' departure came Monday in a brief statement from the Met Council, which oversees Metro Transit and its police department.
The statement was not specific as to why or how Morales left the post.
Also not included was the status of the internal investigation.
Morales worked in the New York police department for three decades before coming to Minnesota last year.
