The Minneapolis Public School Board approved new contracts for both teachers and education support professionals just days after the union's rank and file ratified the agreement. The approval came Tuesday night and was expected.
The two-year deal calls for teachers to get a 4 percent increase next year, 5 percent the year after.
Meanwhile, education support professionals will also see raises that will include cost of living increases to total 10 percent by next year.
Union leaders call the raise for teachers the largest they've seen in more than 25 years. Both teachers and ESP's had been working without a contract for almost a year.
Teachers in Lakeville also ratified a new contract.
