For the first time in the city’s history, Minneapolis will be using City Hall for a drag queen show.

It's meant to honor the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month, which is celebrated each June to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York City.

According to the city, the first-ever drag show at the administrative building will feature three to five performers.

"The Minneapolis City Council, in collaboration with the Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity Employee Resource Group (SOGI) and Neighborhood Community Relations Department (NCR) are excited to invite the community, friends and family to celebrate Pride Month 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️with us," announced Minneapolis City Council Member Jason Chavez on social media.

The show takes place on Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m.

Once the show concludes around 9:30, the Minneapolis City Council will read the 2026 Pride Month honorary resolution, which recognizes June as Pride Month in Minneapolis.
